| Hey ya'll!
ok I just had to tell you guys what happened yesterday. First of all you need to know the setting. I have been in Christ for the Nations (CFNI) for the last month illegaly. I really can't stay at CFNI until I register the 18th of August. At CFNI no student can have TVs in their dorms, and the curfew is 1 am and guards are always watching out for students that come to the dorms after curfew
---People---
Jason: a guy that has already graduated from CFNI and has rented an apartment near by for the sole purpose of having his TV deprived CFNI friends over to watch movies.
Amy and Becky: 2 girls I am rooming with, that went to the Jason's house
Me: enough said
So yesterday Amy, Becky, me and like 6 other CFNIers went to Jason to watch movies. Everyone but amy, Becky and I had to work early today. So Jason told the guys that brought us over that he'd drive us back. when it was 12:30 Jason got really tired and decided that he really didn't want to drive us back to our dorm. So he asked who knew how to drive stick shift.... aparently the only person that knew was the unmoderinized Colombian MK. LOL I have not driven in like 4 months and wasn't really sure I would be comfortable driving someone else's car, and less a truck. But aparently I was chosen to drive us back and then today drive the truck back to Jason. I wanted to leave at 12:45 but the girls said that they wanted to see the end of the show..http://www.xanga.com/Images/shocked.gif ... So we get into the truck at 1 am, but b/c it is a truck, I could not find the emergency brake. Literarly we had to all step out of the truck, turn on the light and try to find. Finally we found the brake and unbraked it and tried to pull out. Remember, I am not a driving expert, haven't driven in 4 months and never in my life have driven a truck. So when I was pulling out from the tight parking stop, I had a hard time finding the clutch point, so the truck keep on turning off on me. I finally pulled out, all 3 of us cheered and headed off to our dorms. When I got to the parking lot of the dorms we look around and Becky said "OH good!! there's no security!" right then a security truck appeared a block away. Amy and Becky grabbed everything (including the sandals I took off to drive) and ran to the room. I was going to do the same thing, but the key would not leave the ignition.I yanked and pulled and it would not come out. (today I found out you had to press a button and do a weird thing to pull it out) the security car rounded the corner where I was, Aparently he saw the girls running to the rooms and was trying to figure out where they went. I was hoping he didn't see me.... soooo0 much for hoping. He pulled up his security to right to Jason's truck's window and let the light shine in. Obviously he had seen me, so I started to fight with the key in the ignition again. After what seemed half an hour, but actually was only a few minutes of fighting with the key. I walk out of the car, and said "Sir, could u help me, my key doesn't want to pull out" I wnet back to the truck, and the guard didn't follow. Again I went back and explain me situation and he finally got out of the car and went to help me. After fighting the key a bit, he finally pulled it out and was about to handed it to.
Holding the key in his hand, he began to interogate me. Guard: sooo, you girls just got here...? Me: *cutting him off and giving him reason not to fine me* I sorry, I am just "visiting" Guard: ooohhhh *a lil bit caught off gaurd* sooo who are you visiting Me: *not waiting to get friends in trouble but wanting not to lie* Agape 111 Guard: Ok *seeing he couldn't get mad at a visitor, he handed me the keys* Me: *runs off barefoot to the apartment*
What a fun day... I am not even a student yet, and I am already getting into trouble!

| LOOOOOOOOONG TIME NO WRITE....
ok me life just turn upside down, but in a good way. I am starting a new again. Currently I am in Dallas, TX. I had to fit my whole life in 2 large suitcases and 2 carry-ons. NOT FUN. I came here all by myself from Colombia, SA the 5th of July. This is the first time I am awat from my parents. I feel like a foreiner in my own birth country. I guess I didn't really realize the truth of what I said on NSA till I actually lived it "Home is everywhere, but at the same time, HOME IS NO WHERE" I literarly do not have a home that I can run back to if I mess up. me parents just moved to a small appartement since there 'baby of the house' (me) graduated and left home.... *sighs* great.
I was suppose to get to Dallas early b/c I had a home I was going to stay at lined up and a job at a mall 5 minutes away. I would have worked a month and a half b4 school started to had enough money to buy an inexpensive car. Both the house and the job did not work out. The first week here I stay at 5 different places. Apparently I am not suppose to live on campus until after registation date (August 18th) but I am doing a "long" visit with some friends of my brothers. In the hallways of the dorm we have had movie night till 8 am and shampoo/shaving-cream fights. It has been awesome.
OK I will try to come back and write a bit about another job I found and will prolly be starting the first of august. but today I don't have time.
I luv ya'll and miss you guys and NSA.
Have a great day,

| WOW what a day....
today in the morning I had my French final... I studied all morning and did it from 12-1:30ish. I actually think I did pretty well. The oral part of the test I did really well and everything but b/c the test was soooo long I got a bit lazy and flaky at the end. Then I went home and took a long nap. My dad woke me up at 4 pm and decided to take me 'birthday-clothes-shopping', we actually didn't find anything be I did find a lovely sweater I tried on whose hairs keep me sneezing the whole ride home.
For my closer friends on NSA, I have told you guys I was expecting a suprise party from my friends... remember? I just wasn't expecting it before my birthday =D LOL my dad lied to me on the way home from the mall saying that he had made reservations at this fancy restaurant for us at 6:30... I knew he was lying for two reason, 1) he never goes to a restaurant that early 2) that particular restaurant opens at 7:30 pm... it was funny to see him dig himself out of that whole. But regardless we were going home to get changed quickly and then go to the restaurant. When I get there I like upstairs and see ballons on the balcony, I knew that it was for me. I went into my room as if I hadn't seen anything. My mom came in a hands me a glass of grape juice and said "Vinnie (our guest) is upstairs and is not feeling good, could you go up and give this to him." I turned to her and asked "Could you do it? jk mom I will be right up, let me brush my hair before people try to scare me" mom again "Cara, act surprise" me "Okay" I actually keep my friends quietly waiting in closest... the quiet part is really hard for them... for a bit of time They 'suprised' me, hugged me, asked for how long did I know about the party, and then we began to play LOUD games. Have you guys seen "Who's line is it anyways?" well most of my friends at the party are like them... they come up with outrageous stuff and aren't shy to share it...
After they left, I went to the fancy French restuarant... awesome food, I had Duck... it was quite chewy. During the meal I seemed like I was crying b/c my contacts were really bugging my eyes. oh yeah, my dad gave me a purity ring and all in all great time with him.
When I got home... I went to my room to write this blog and the funniest thing happened. Last year I got a few phone calls at midnight the morning of my birthday so a phone call came in. I logically assumed it was a friend... lol... it was actually an ex-classmate of Joel calling from Dallas to Colombia. Joel wasn't here so I talked to him. I haven't met him before but actually talk for a while. Hilarious, he is according to him "a redneck, but hey, God luvs rednecks da same." So then he said he was going to talk to my brother b/c there was a miscommunication and he actually called back to tell me what my brother had actually said. But instead of me answering the phone, my mom did. Remember this is almost midnight, my mom was half asleep. I answer, right after she did, so I easedropped the convo... poor Bobby. I seriously did not want to be in his shoes....
OK my looooooooooong day....
in half an hour I will be 18!!! yeah!

| "THE CROSS" t
I just wanted to tell you guys how yesterday went....
After a week of practicing... practically 4 hours each day at church, we finally presented our play/dance, almost like a musical, but better. It was so much fun but odd at the same time. Yesterday we got to church at 4pm and practiced till 5 and than started to get ready (hair, makeup, clothes). The whole time I was running around the untire church barefoot...why you may ask? well, the shoes I was wearing when I got there were impossible to dance in, hence the barefootness. Because everyone else has curly hair (most Colombian have long black curly hair with dark eyes, I do stick out alot) I had to curl mine also. All the girl, but me, wanted to be identical angels. Thank goodness they didn't dye my hair also. The curling process was weird, we didn't put in the curler, and then take then out in 10 min like one is suppose to, but the girl wanted to keep them there to the last minute, 'just in case they don't hold that well'. So then I was not only running around the church barefooted but also with about 20 curlers pinned to my head. My closest friends obviosly took advantage of those moments to take pics and jokes regarding my hair.
When it was time to present, I heard the preacher call us. I told the rest that it was time, but they didn't believe me. We were behind the stage so the rest hadn't heard the speaker. Finally when I convinced them, the soldier went on stage and then one by one us angels went to the front. It was amazing! I have presented quite a number of times on stage but this was incredible. The play was of a soldier that was taking care of Jesus' tomb. He talked about how he couldn't believe that Jesus had dies so poorly that supposedly he was a 'king' but died as a criminal. He mentally asked God "IF you are the all powerful, why don't you get down from that cross" But somehow he felt Jesus was listening to his thoughts on the cross and told him "If I don't get off this cross, it is because I love you". There were other parts just as impacting especially the part where 'Jesus' resurected and helped up the soldier that had fallen to the floor while the angels danced around glorifying God. Again, it was incredible. All of us were shaking, not out of nervousness, but because we truelly felt God was doing something thru us to impact the congregation's lives. =D
Anyways... if you guys need visual aid, I will have the pics of the play soon on my space http://spaces.msn.com/CaraJoy88/ Oh yeah, and if your on NSA I have 4 pics of the play there.

Luv yas...

| Hello,
Easy English (the English institute I teach at) changed lacationson Monday. Before it was in the small auditorium on the 3rd flor of the church near the offices. Now, it is near the churches restuarant where we give leadership classes. NEways... everything on Tuesday went wrong. I usually get to the classroom 10 minutes before hand to prepare for classes. I had forgotten that classes started 15 minutes earlier b/c of the changes on Monday. So I get there, and my class had already started 5 minutes b4. The English coordinator was really bugged, thankfully he is one of those people that gets mad and becomes quite. So I took the class from there. It was rainning and the new classrooms wear leaking. Seriously, there was 3 part of the room where the roof was dripping water and 2 part where water was running down the wall. There is no sistem (doorbell nor doorman) to answer the door for the people so countless people got soaking weat b4 they were let inside, apparently that was my fault I could barely hear myself b/c of all the noise on the street. Then I had to go to the bathroom. So I made sure my students had some work to do in pair and went off to look for a bathroom. The only bathroom on that floor had its light out. I couldn't find the switch but there was a -I think it is called- power box with 10 switches. One by one I started to switch on and off, seeing if one didn't work for the bathroom. None of them did. But while I was searching for light for the bathroom, I turned of both light for both of the English classrooms 30 students screamed (tipical thing to do when lights suddenly turn off in a storm). I finally found the switch and could "hacer mis necesidades" .
Then I went home to get a few warmer clothes to go to the airport in to pick up my daddy and Joel. When we came back to the church to pick some of Joel's friends, one of my closest friends, PK, from another church was walking towards the church with his brother and his friend. This is new, b/c I have never seen them at my church. We were parking and they saw me and waved, but just mysteriously walked into the church, not even to the offices but to where I just had taught my classes. Why wouldn't they go there, I have no clue. Let me explain why I am expressing this. Here the culture is to wait and give a nice greeting-hug, kiss on the check, and an explaination- I had none. Since then, I haven't talked to him. All in all it is weird conduct from my friend, and made me a bit bummed out.
Then everyone who we were waiting for got to church and we left for the airport. On the way there, our friend's car's tire popped and he swerved off the rode. Thankfully no one got hurt and there was an extra tire that they needed to change, but we got to the airport really late and my dad and Joel were already waiting. During they time the guys were changing the tire, I was talking to this girl that I had just meet the week b4. She is psychologist so I was asking her a whole bunch of questions. while we were there we talked about 'friendships' and I said some things about how I am bugged when people get to know me to get closer to my brother. She acted a bit weird, but I blew it off b/c I didn't know her that well. When my family finally got home, 10:30 pm, I heard Joel talking to my dad and commenting that she had told Joel "God told me you will be my husband" and since then has tried to get close to him. So I have been trying to not get to close to her.
On a cheerer note, my daddy gave me a rose 'Women's Day' yesterday. He (I think couldn't find a real rose, so he...) bought a plastic one and said "This simbolizes your beauty and charcter that won't faid away but will last a lifetime". How adorable my daddy.
OK enough about me, how are you guys?
